Issue

End users see the following warning alert from Microsoft's SmartScreen Defender when falling for a phishing campaign:

This website has been classified as malicious

Solution

To remove the warning, you will need to whitelist the Phishing domains as a Trusted site in Internet Explorer and Edge.

  1. Open Internet Explorer or Edge and navigate to Internet Options > Security tab.
  2. Add the Phishing domains as a trusted site. Select the Trusted sites zone icon. Then, click the Sites button.
  3. Uncheck the box Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
  4. Add the Phishing domain(s) you are using in your phishing campaigns.

See Whitelisting Guide for the list of domains.

  1. Click Close.
  2. Disable SmartScreen Defender for Trusted sites only. On the Security tab, click on the Custom level... button.
  3. Scroll down to Use Windows Defender SmartScreen or Use SmartScreen Filter (Win8) and select Disable.
  4. Click OK.
