Getting vircom alerts about credentials failing for Vircom Portal.

Problem:

I can't login to vircomportal.com and I'm getting notifications about via vircom portal alerts.

Reason:

Your LOCAL proofpoint password probably expired and you changed it, so now the portal can't check your stats anymore.  Admin accounts in proofpoint have a 6 month password expiry.  You probably got the warning on your last login, you logged in to proofpoint with new creds but the vircomportal doesn't know about them yet.

Since the VircomPortal fetches stats info using your own creds, since the creds are not up to date in the VircomPortal, it can't fetch them anymore.

IMPORTANT: Most client use office365 credentials to login to proofpoint.  We're talking about LOCAL credentials defined in proofpoint.

You can try logging on to Proofpoint Essentials (us5.proofpointessentials.com for instance or whichever stack you are located on) and login using your email address and the local password.  If it's failing, you can simply issue a password reset.

Fix:

Once your LOCAL credentials work on proofpoint essentials ...

Login to vircomportal.com using the new credentials.  You should be good to go after that.

1. You'll stop getting alerts

2. The monitoring will resume normally
